Before your appointment
What can a well woman scan assess?
It can help investigate concerns such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, irregular bleeding and the position of an IUD. Findings are considered alongside your symptoms and medical history.
How is the scan performed?
Pelvic scans are usually performed internally, with your consent, for detailed images. Your sonographer will explain the examination and answer your questions.
What if there is an unexpected finding?
We explain the findings and provide a written report that can be shared with your GP, together with guidance on appropriate next steps.
Is this the same as fertility monitoring?
Fertility monitoring has a specific focus on follicle measurements and the womb lining. Choose our Fertility Scan if your treatment provider has requested monitoring.
