Before your scan

When can I have a scan?

Early pregnancy scans are available from 6 to 11 weeks.

Will my scan be internal?

An internal scan may be offered when it can give a clearer view. We will explain why and ask for your consent.

How should I prepare?

Please drink around three glasses of water about an hour before your appointment, arrive with a full bladder and wear loose clothing.

What if there is an unexpected finding?

Your sonographer will explain the findings and next steps, including referral where needed.
