When is a growth scan available?
Growth and presentation scans are available from 28 to 38 weeks.
What measurements are taken?
Head, tummy and thigh-bone measurements are used to estimate weight and growth percentile.
What if findings need follow-up?
The sonographer will explain the findings. Where appropriate, they will document them and arrange referral to your healthcare provider.
How should I prepare?
Wear a two-piece outfit, empty your bladder just before the appointment and take medication as normal unless advised otherwise by your doctor or midwife.
