COMMITMENT TO ACHIEVING NET ZERO

Imaginatal is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030

BASELINE EMISSIONS FOOTPRINT

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

BASELINE YEAR: 2023

The baseline year is 2022 and the current reporting year is 2023.

As part of Imaginatal’s environmental footprint strategy, Imaginatal measures, minimises and reports on the company’s environmental footprint, including undertaking annual measurement of missions. Imaginatal’s reporting includes absolute emissions and intensity metrics by scope, compares Imaginatal’s performance to previous reporting periods and tracks progress against targets.

Imaginatal’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are calculated in line with the GHG Protocol. Imaginatal’s methodology follows best practices, such as using internationally accepted conversion factors and including radiative forcing in emission factors for air travel. Imaginatal’s reporting covers all material emission sources and complies with the criteria of South Pole’s Climate Neutral label.

  • Scope 1 encompasses direct emissions, including those associated with the direct consumption of natural gas, heating oil, and diesel fuel as well as the emissions associated with owned and leased vehicles and fugitive emissions. Imaginatal does not have any Scope 1 emissions due to the nature of our business and we do not use natural gas in any of our locations.

  • Scope 2 encompasses indirect emissions, including those associated with the purchase and consumption of local electricity and distinct heating energy. Scope 2 emissions are mainly calculated based on volumes of purchased and consumed electricity and heating energy.

  • Scope 3 encompasses other indirect emissions, such as business travel, emissions from extraction of fuels and production of purchased goods and services, vehicles not owned or controlled, outsourced activities, employee commuting (including home working). Scope 3 emissions are mainly calculated based on mileage (commute), energy consumption (Homeworker) and spend (purchased goods and services).

Baseline year emissions:

EMISSIONS TOTAL                                                                   (tCO2e)

Scope 1                                                                                         0.0

Scope 2                                                                                         1.5

Scope 3                                                                                        21.9

Homeworker electricity emissions (home office)                   0.1

Homeworker gas emissions                                                       0.6

Petrol emissions (commute)                                                      5.2

Hybrid emissions (commute)                                                     3.5

Additional estimates for purchases of goods and services  12.6

Total Emissions                                                                            23.4

Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:

CARBON REDUCTION PROJECTS

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2022 baseline. The measures will continue to be in effect in future.

  • Remote reception, admin teams working from home where no client facing activities are required.

  • Staff commuting is by public transport where possible or electric or hybrid vehicles. None of our existing staff use diesel cars.

  • Where possible car share is encouraged.

  • In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • Installing 100% LED lighting in our clinics in order to reduce our energy consumption.

  • Powering our clinics with 100% renewable electricity.

  • Introducing paperless consent forms contributing to reduction of carbon footprint.

DECLARATION AND SIGN OFF

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard[1] and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting[2].

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard[3].

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
